Deepak Parvatiyar 〔1〕 is an Indian journalist〔2〕 and an internationally acclaimed film director. He is the Chief Media Advisor〔3〕 of Isha Creative Vision P Ltd.〔4〕 & Honorary Media Advisor, the Indian Federation of United Nations Associations & We Care International Film Fest〔5〕 on disability issues. A popular blogger,〔6〕 he is also the chief consulting editor of www.jagritbihar.com which is among the most popular portal that gives voice to the people of Bihar on various issues concerning them. Deepak has hands on experience of content management across mediums - Print, Television, News Portals. His film I'm Special, My World Is Different won the 1st prize @ the 1st edition of Autis Movie - Festival Internazionale di Cortometraggi sull'Autismo in Cagliari, Italy in 2013. It was screened @ Reelabilities, Athena & Familius filmfests in USA & embedded in many websites across the globe.〔7〕 His documentary The Wizard of Needles 〔8〕 won the Jury's Special Mention Award @ We Care Filmfest co-organized by UNESCO, United Nations Information Centre, India & Bhutan, and National Trust (Government of India) in 2011. He received appreciation letter from BBC's production team for contributing as consultant to their global documentary on Asbestrosis in 2001. Deepak was an independent jury member for Indian News Television Awards 2014. He was felicitated @ Reelemotions filmfest, Noida International University & @ Department of Communication Studies, Jagannath International Management School's Media Festival ‘PRISM’, in 2012-13, where he was a distinguished jury member. He was also a member of jury at We Care Filmfest in 2014 and 2015.〔9〕 He also teaches as guest faculty in media schools. He headed ETV in Gujarat in mid-nineties & also did scripts for All India Radio's news capsule "Spotlight". He was instrumental in setting up the ETV Gujarati channel in Ahmedabad in 2001. Deepak has rich experience of leading TV & print reporting teams & held prestigious positions such as Content Editor, Institute for Customer Relationship Management (iCRM) in Kuala Lumpur; & Assistant Editor/ national bureau chief of Indian news weekly Sahara Time, New Delhi; He has written for a no. of leading newspapers & magazines.
